Ingredients

  • 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗯 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝘂𝗻:

  • 1 cup milk powder

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)

  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • Oil or ghee for deep frying

  • 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝗿𝘂𝗽:

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder

  • Saffron strands (optional)

  • Rose water (optional)

Instructions

1

Prepare Sugar Syrup:

In a pan, combine sugar and water. Bring it to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add cardamom powder and simmer for 5-7 minutes until it forms a slightly sticky syrup. Optional: Add saffron strands and rose water for flavor.
2

Make Gulab Jamun Dough:

In a mixing bowl, combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, ghee, baking soda, and enough milk to form a smooth, soft dough.

Shape and Fry:

Divide the dough into small portions and shape them into round balls. Heat oil or ghee in a pan and fry the balls until golden brown.

Soak in Sugar Syrup:

Immediately transfer the fried gulab jamuns into the warm sugar syrup. Allow them to soak for at least 2 hours, ensuring they absorb the sweetness.
5

Serve:

Garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
