  • Cooking Spoon or Ladle

  • Knife and Chopping Board

  • Measuring Spoons

  • Blender or Food Processor

  • Mixing Bowl

  • Cover or Lid

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken, cut into pieces

  • 2 large onions, finely chopped

  • 3 tomatoes, pureed

  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

1

Sauté Onions and Cumin Seeds:

In a pan, heat vegetable oil. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
2

Add Ginger-Garlic Paste and Spice Powders:

Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell disappears. Stir in coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
3

Introduce Tomato Puree:

Add tomato puree and cook until the mixture thickens, and the oil separates from the masala.
4

Marinate and Cook Chicken:

Marinate the chicken pieces with yogurt and garam masala. Add the marinated chicken to the pan, ensuring it is well-coated with the spice mixture. Cover and cook until the chicken is tender and the masala is well-absorbed.
5

Simmer and Garnish:

Allow the curry to simmer for an additional 10 minutes, ensuring the chicken is infused with the rich flavors. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
6

Serve:

Serve hot with naan or rice for a delicious and hearty meal.
